On the way to IFLAcamp2017 in Wrocław

Today I blog in English because I am going to speak English the next days from Wednesday to Sunday. So that is a way to tune in to the following 5 days in Poland. In a few days the IFLA ( International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) conference will take place in Wroclaw. The city was the European city of culture last year. As I have already been to the German library conference (Bibliothekartag) in Frankfurt this year, it is not possible for me also to take part in the IFLA. I am very happy about this opportunity to join the IFLAcamp in advance and meet librarians from all over the world. The IFLAcamp is organized by the IFLA’s New Professionals Special Interest Group (NPSIG) – an “open global network for library and information science (LIS) new professionals and supporters.”

On the first day we discuss various topics concerning the slogan “Librarians on the move”.

The second day we make a short “Cycling for libraries tour” through the city from one library to another. We are going to wear branded vests to show everyone that there are a lot of librarians in the city these days.

I am very excited to get to know other librarians, discuss some stuff, have some drinks and simply enjoy the summertime in Poland.

Here’s a short teaser about the camp:
